Latest MAN ‘day-in-the-life’ video scales new heights.

MAN Automotive Imports has just completed the production of another short form video – the fifth in its ‘day-in-the-life’ series.

This series of short form videos has proven extremely popular, with substantial downloads recorded on MAN’s YouTube channel.  One video in particular has already amassed close to 35,000 downloads.

The latest video features LinCon Hire’s TGS 41.480 8×8 model, fitted with a platform and tower that extends seventy metres. The video shows the truck’s role in facilitating the fitment of aluminium panels to the side of a University of Sydney building in the inner Sydney suburb of Ultimo.

LinCon have a number of MANs on their fleet and find the 8×8 model provides both a stable base for the platforms and coupled with its all wheel drive capability, ensures they can reach both off-road and less accessible sites.

The TGS is fitted with the powerful, yet economical 480hp MAN D26 engine fitted with Common Rail injection, turbocharging and intercooling mated to MAN’s 12 speed TipMatic gearbox. A two speed transfer case is standard with permanent drive to front and rear axles.

The TGS 8×8 model has recently benefitted from a number of upgrades including the MAN ‘Easy-start’ function that holds service brakes on hills for smoother pulling away and an Off-Road ABS switch for improved braking performance when taking the vehicle off road. A recent update to the interior is a new Double DIN sized MAN Topline stereo system with 5.2” touchscreen.

“We believe these videos are an excellent way to interact with our customers to showcase the extensive product range and the trucks’ capabilities. We plan to produce more videos in the future, with an emphasis on detailing how MAN has helped our customers’ businesses evolve,” said MAN General Manager – Marketing, Cris Gillespie.
